Hispanic and LGBT Chambers Unite in Nashville – The Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce have agreed to sign an inter-chamber agreement that will provide business owners from both memberships with enhanced resources to help them with their business development efforts. The purpose of this agreement is to create and establish a working relationship between the chambers that will enhance the availability and delivery of business support services and simultaneously promote economic development and excellence in the greater Nashville area and Middle Tennessee region. LGBTea: Celebrating Exotic Taste! Campaign Launch - LGBTea is a brand of tea that not only delights the taste buds with exotic flavors, like Raging Raspberry and Juicy Tangerine, but also donates a portion of every sale they make to assist charities in advocating for LGBT rights including: HRC, The Trevor Project and LGBT Foundation. Curacao Pride 2016 a Success – Curacao’s Queen Emma Bridge set the scene for Curacao’s first Pride Walk. Almost 300 people participated in the walk, which was part of a weeklong pride celebration. Floris Suite Hotel held parties during the week including the popular White Party with artists as DJ RO1, DJ la Blanche and Dreams. The Lesbian Business Community Launches Online Resource - Despite recent gains in public support for the LGBT community, lesbian businesses seem to be left behind. Only 1.2% of businesses in the U.S. are lesbian-owned businesses, and many of these face disadvantages. A new website, The Lesbian Business Community (The LBC) hopes to change all that. The site is the first and only online resource by and for lesbians and lesbian business owners. According to the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), there are only 370,000 lesbian-owned businesses in the U.S., a sore underrepresentation, since lesbians make up between 3-5% of the population. Logo TV Debuts New Documentary - Logo announced the world premiere of “Hungry,” a documentary about three driven women chefs and restaurateurs passionately working to create a path to success in the world of professional cooking. These chefs shatter the glass ceiling in the food industry as they risk everything to achieve their culinary and entrepreneurial dreams. The film is directed by Patty Ivins who won an Emmy for producing the documentary “Girls on the Wall.” "Hungry" will premiere on Thursday, November 17 at 9pm ET/PT on Logo and is the latest in the network’s slate of films that include the Emmy Award-winning “Matt Shepard is a Friend of Mine.”
