WorldPride NYC | Stonewall 50 Events for the LGBTQIA+ Community


NYC Pride, the official host of WorldPride NYC | Stonewall 50, hosts a full calendar of LGBTQIA+ events in New York City from June 1 – 30, 2019. With more than 4.5 million expected to attend, this year’s schedule offers something for everyone.

WorldPride Mural Project: June 1 – 30, Various locations in NYC. NYC Pride in collaboration with production and curation partner, LISA Project NYC, founding partner, HSBC, and major supporting partner, Macy’s present the WorldPride Mural Project initiative. Both local and international artists, 50 in total, were selected to create murals within the five boroughs of New York that reflect and honor the beauty, struggle, and strides of the LGBTQIA+ community.

WorldPride Quilt Initiative: June 1 -30, Various locations in NYC. NYC Pride coordinated with community leaders to display portions of The AIDS Memorial Quilt throughout the city for the month of June.

OutCinema: Monday, June 17 – June 19, 7pm, SVA Theatre. In partnership with NewFest and the SVA Theatre, NYC Pride presents a three-day format to celebrate LGBTQIA+ pride and community in film. ADAM on Monday, Deep In Vogue on Tuesday, and WIG on Wednesday – the last day of OutCinema.

LGBTQ Week NYC - Marketing, Advertising & New Media - June 17 - Building off of the success of our LGBTQ Marketing Conference held for the past 12 years in New York, including the 1st LGBTQ Week NYC in 2015, Community Marketing & Insights and Pink Banana Media are proud to announce the launch of our expanded LGBTQ conference schedule for 2019, as part of World Pride 2019, bringing the broader scope of Marketing, Advertising & New Media to the mix, with the theme "Education & Networking: Bringing together the worlds of advertising, marketing, technology and business in the LGBTQ marketplace."

Family Movie Night: Friday June 21, Doors open: 6:30pm | Movie Start 8:30pm, Hudson River Park’s Pier 45. Featuring a family-friendly screening of Disney / Pixar’s Coco. Hosted by Miss Richfield 1981.

Cosplay & Pride: Saturday June 22, 6:00pm, Hudson River Park’s Pier 40. In partnership with Geeks OUT and SEA TEA, NYC Pride presents its second cosplay event. Hosted by Petra Friedwith a performance by AJA.

Pride Luminaries Brunch: Sunday June 23, 11am, Magic Hour Rooftop. Entering its seventh year, NYC Pride, New Orleans Tourism, and the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce honor inspiring LGBTQIA+ business leaders.

Human Rights Conference: Monday June 24 – 25, 9am, New York Law School. NYC Pride’s two-day Human Rights Conference, in partnership with NYLS, provides a unique opportunity for a global dialogue about human rights. Keynote by Raquel Willis, Janet Mock, and Tracey “Africa” Norman.

GameChangers: Tuesday June 25, 6pm, SVA Theatre.NYC Pride’s GameChangers, in partnership with GLAAD, focuses on the success, tenacity, and visibility of the LGBTQIA+ community in the entertainment industry. Panel includes George Takei,Trace Lysette, and Leyna Bloom.

WorldPride Opening Ceremony: Wednesday June 26, 7pm, Barclays Center. NYC Pride’s Opening Ceremony is a benefit concert featuring performances by Cyndi Lauper, Chaka Khan, Ciara, Billy Porter, Daya, Todrick Hall. Hosted by Whoopi Goldberg. Proceeds benefit Ali Forney Center, SAGE, and Immigration Equality.

LGBTQ New Media Summit: June 27 - With the continual convergence and evolution of what were once independent silos of PR, Marketing and Advertising, along with the rise of social media and influencers, we'll be showcasing a variety of presentations and panels illustrating and highlighting some of the ways in which organizations large and small have been adapting and succeeding in this new marketing environment, crafting coordinated, multi-channel campaigns that reach a specific hyper-targeted audiences.

Savor Pride: Friday June 28, 6pm, God’s Love We Deliver. NYC Pride & God’s Love We Deliver present an immersive culinary experience. Featuring chefs: Renee Blackman, Julia Turshen, Alex Koones,Manuel González Charles, Lazarus Lynch, and Big Gay Ice Creamand Polly Cooks.

Rally: Stonewall 50 Commemoration,Friday June 28, 6pm, Christopher St. & Waverly Pl. NYC Pride takes the Rally back into the streets. Community activists, organizers, and more will make their voices heard for the 50thAnniversary of the Stonewall Uprising.

Youth Pride: Saturday June 29, 12pm, SummerStage, Central Park. A fun, free experience for LGBTQIA+ and ally teens that includes entertainment, interactive games, and more. Performance by Ava Max.

Pride Island: Saturday, Saturday June 29, 2pm, Hudson River Park’s Pier 97. The first day of Pride Island, features live performances by “Pull Up to the Bumper” legend Grace Jones, along with Teyana Taylor, Kim Petras, Pabllo Vittar, Amara La Negra, DJ Johnny Dynell.

VIP Rooftop Party,Saturday June 29, 2pm, The Park. NYC Pride presents the ninth year of this exclusive rooftop party. DJsGRIND, DJ Toy Armada, DJ Ben Baker, and Kitty Glitter.

Teaze: Saturday June 29, 5pm, The DL. NYC Pride’s official Saturday queer party is back for another year, in partnership with dapperQ. Hosted by Jazzmyne Jayand AmbersCloset. Headlined by Madame Ghandi.

PrideFest: Sunday June 30, 11am, 4thAve. b/w Union Square and Astor Pl.PrideFest is an annual LGBTQIA+ street fair that combines exhibitors, entertainers and activities for a day of fun and celebration in the name of equality. Hosted by EJ Johnson and headlined by Princess Nokia.

NYC Pride March: Sunday June 30, 12pm, formation at 26thStreet and 5thAve. The world’s best-known LGBTQIA+ Pride event, the 50th NYC Pride March will be led by Grand Marshals: cast of POSE, Phyll Opoku-Gyimah,Gay Liberation Front,The Trevor Project, and Monica Helms. This year’s March will also broadcast live on ABC7 from 12-4pm. Press conference with Grand Marshals at 10:30am.

Femme Fatale: Sunday June 30, 4pm, The Park. Presented by NYC Pride, Stacy of Stonewall, Kate of LovergirlNYC, SPICENYC, and Cynthia Russo, Femme Fatale is the official Sunday queer party. Special Celebrity Guest DJ Kittens, Madonna’s Tour DJ Mary Mac, Miami DJ Bonnie Beats, NYC DJ Nikki Lions, NYC DJ Lena.

WorldPride Closing Ceremony: Sunday June 30, 7pm, Times Square. NYC Pride’s Closing Ceremony welcomes all to a full slate of influential speakers and global musical talents. Performances include Melissa Etheridge, Deborah Cox, Jake Shears, MNEK, The Prom Musical. Hosted by Margaret Cho.
