It’s made with zero added sulfur (sans soufre in French) in an eco-friendly winery. Cherries & Rainbows is ideal for the modern wine drinker in search of sustainably farmed, small lot options. It's a bottle that celebrates the natural wine movement, bringing this fresh, bright, and chillable red to adventurous drinkers. The ripeness and inherent nature of each grape comes through in the final product, with the Merlot showing dark, round fruit and the Syrah contributing spice and earth.
Les Hauts de Lagarde Bordeaux Blanc – Entre du Mers, Bordeaux, France – SRP $15.99
Its color is reminiscent of the palest yellow diamond shimmering in the sun. The nose reveals fresh citrus peel and zest, crisp Bartlett pear, honeysuckle, and a chalky minerality found on the palate as well. The mouthfeel reveals a prominent acidity with soft edges, lemon chiffon, honeydew melon, and hints of passionfruit.
Les Hauts de Lagarde Bordeaux Rouge – Entre du Mers, Bordeaux, France – SRP $15.99 Translucent ruby red hue with cool aromatics, green herbal notes, cedar, cypress, and red currant. Palate reveals ripe red fruit, red plums, raspberries, ripe blueberries, along with cigar box spice, pencil shavings, and a strong cypress note on the finish.
Koyle Costa La Flor Sauvignon Blanc – San Antonio Valley, Chile – SRP $16.99
Floral aromas with notes of freesia, fresh pineapple, guava, white peaches, and green strawberries giving way to white grapefruit, honeysuckle crème brûlée, beachy grasses, and a sea breeze salinity on the palate. Aromas of ripe sour cherries, balsam, herbal notes, fresh pipe tobacco, dill, while the palate displays classic notes of vanilla cherry cola, cedar, cypress, leather, and baking spice. Exhibits silky, integrated tannins balanced with prominent acidity, medium-plus body.
Gary Farrell 2019 Russian River Selection Chardonnay – SRP $35
Rich & golden, yet vibrant and zesty, this beautiful orchestra of Russian River Valley vineyards offers up enticing aromas of ripe nectarine, honeysuckle, lemongrass and freshly baked brioche. Flinty, briny and spicy, the palate is full-bodied and rich, yet remarkably mineral-driven, with flavors of roasted Meyer lemon, grapefruit, ginger and just a kiss of lightly toasted oak. The beautiful saline quality balances the tangy acidity and lingering spice. Everything is nicely integrated, from the tangy entry to the long oily finish.
Gary Farrell 2019 Russian River Selection Pinot Noir – SRP $45
Raspberries, red currant and strawberry conserve dominate the nose with underlying tones of tobacco and forest floor. Hints of cola, summer jasmine, honeysuckle, and rose petals further the intrigue. The palate presents a striking brightness and purity, coupled with a generous mouthfeel that delivers flavors of fresh cherries, garden herbs, and sweet baking spice.
