2024 LGBTQ Pride Guide


Pride Journeys is proud to present the 2024 LGBTQ Pride Guide, a comprehensive and ongoing list of events celebrating the LGBTQ community. This list contains not only Pride events, but also fundraisers, circuit parties and other large-scale events targeting LGBTQ individuals. July 18-21: Richmond, Virginia – Black Pride RVA is a vibrant and empowering celebration of Black culture, love, and community in the city of Richmond. This week-long event brings together individuals from all walks of life to honor and uplift the Black LGBTQ+ community through entertaining and engaging events.


July 19-21: Sonoma County - Gay Wine Weekend will be three days of wine and LGBTQ+ celebration, including winemaker dinners, winery tours, a twilight T-Dance in Le Crema Estate’s vineyard, drag queen brunch and auction, after parties and the signature closing pool party/soiree.


July 19-21: IW Pride, Isle of Wight UK - Head to the South England’s Isle of Wight for a fabulous party on the sandy beach of Ryde. The parade will see dazzling floats, music and dancing along the streets. An exciting festival program is awaiting visitors with former Pussycat Dolls member, Kimberly Wyatt and RuPaul's Drag Race UK Season 5 Winner, Ginger Johnson, as headliners.


July 20: Bremerton, WA - Kitsap Pride is a testament to resilience and inclusivity, offering a dynamic experience with 100+ booths, a lively beer garden, diverse food options, and stellar entertainment featuring local talent and renowned performers like Tacocat, Kim Archer, and Frenchie Davis.


July 20: Rochester Pride: this year's theme is Pride Galaxy. ROC Pride Picnic: July 14th featuring retail vendors, a piano bar, DJs, dancing, drag entertainers, and kid activity bags.


July 20-21 - Glasgow’s Pride, Glasgow UK - A two-day spectacle held in Glasgow every summer. The colorful rainbow parade runs through the city while Glasgow Green hosts a music stage, bars and more. Expect a carnival atmosphere and lots of kilt-clad Scotsmen.


July 20 and 21 - Lesbian and Gay City Festival - Traditionally held on the weekend before Berlin's Christopher Street Day, this two-day event attracts a large international crowd to officially kick off the gay scene's party season in Berlin. With music, shows, information booths as well as food and drinks, the event is not only a celebration, but also a protest against exclusion of any kind. Also known as Motzstraßenfest, the events remain true to the motto “Equal rights for unequal people – worldwide!”

 

July 25 - Berlin Canal Pride - Leading up to the main CSD parade, this PRIDE event is celebrated on the water, when some 20 boats sail down Berlin’s Spree river in a colorful parade and party. And don’t miss the CSD on the Spree afterparty at the Osthafen event location, with a large outdoor area along the water.


July 27 - Join Barton Orchards in celebrating inclusion in the Hudson Valley, raising awareness and support for the Dutchess County Pride Center and other Local LGBTQ+ groups. There will be live performances from the stars of Ru Paul’s Drag Race, an amateur drag contest with $1,000 in prizes, the “Hey Girl, Hay Ride” a foam party, and much more. Enjoy delicious food, ice cream and ice-cold beverages from the Tap Room.

July 27 - CSD Berlin | Berlin Pride - Christopher Street Day - Music, party, and a fun atmosphere - usually one million people protest at the CSD in Berlin for equal rights and the right to self-determination. In 2024, the CSD will continue to advocate effectively and visibly for LGBTIQ+ rights. The organizers are again making every effort to hold a larger demo procession and the final manifestation. Video of the 2023 CSD.


July 29-August 3: Stockholm, Sweden - The largest Pride celebration in Northern Europe has been around since 1998. Festivities are spread across Stockholm during the last week of July/the first week of August. The Pride Parade, at the end of the week, is the obvious highlight of the celebrations. Stockholm Pride Parade 2024 takes place on August 3 at 1:00 p.m, starting on Norr Mälarstrand and then winding its way through the beautiful Swedish capital for about 2 hours. The Pride Parade in Stockholm is Scandinavia's largest Pride Parade with approx. 50,000 participants and 500,000 in the audience. It is a joyful and colorful manifestation of love for human rights and a demonstration for everyone's right to love and be who they want.


July 29-August 5: Guerneville, CA - Lazy Bear Week - One of the world’s largest bear gatherings, celebrating all bodies, including the hairy and cuddly. Events include pool parties, musical bingo, ice cream socials, movie nights, live entertainment and more.


August 2-26: Edinburgh  International Festival and Festival Fringe, Edinburgh, UK - Edinburgh welcomes hundreds of new guests in the summer, drawing visitors and world class performers from across the globe for the festival season. The Scottish capital becomes an explosion of color and music, events, performances, comedy dance and more for the annual Edinburgh International Festival and Fringe Festival – which together make up the largest arts festival in the world.


August 3: Ann Arbor, Michigan – Ann Arbor Pride - 12 PM | Ann Arbor Pride is the ultimate festival in the heart of Downtown Ann Arbor devoted to celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer identities, community, allyship and Ann Arbor’s LGBTQ history. This annual celebration is hosted by the Jim Toy Community Center, named after Jim Toy, a trailblazer for gay rights who resided in Ann Arbor. Click the event for the full lineup.  


August 10: Austin, Texas - Kick off Pride Month in Austin by celebrating alongside thousands of other visitors and Austinites at the annual Pride Parade and Festival. Get to your viewing spot downtown early and experience the excitement as colorful floats with celebrities and live performances fill the streets. The parade travels through Austin from the Texas State Capitol building, down iconic Congress Avenue and concludes in the Warehouse District. From there you’ll want to check out several of the welcoming LGBTQ+-friendly bars in the area.


August 10: Beloit, Wisconsin - Rock the Pride is a vibrant celebration of LGBTQ+ and identity, extending a warm welcome to all, regardless of age, to partake in a day of joy and solidarity. This inclusive and free public festival, hosted by the Yellow Brick Road Organization and located at Telfer Park in Beloit, WI, embodies inclusivity and community support. The festival's main event is the Rock Country Pride Drag Royalty Crowning, a tradition that honors individuals who stand up for diversity and acceptance. Attendees can also engage with resources and shop at local LGBTQ+-affirming businesses and community organizations. The festival offers diverse entertainment, including games, comedy acts, and music, catering to everyone’s interests. From exciting performances by Rock County Drag Royalty to Lip Sync and Drag Bingo competitions, the entertainment is lively and engaging. Attendees also have the opportunity to enjoy delicious culinary eats from food trucks and complimentary beverages on-site.


August 8-11: OutSouth Queer Film Festival is the second-largest gay, lesbian, and transgender film festival in the Southeast, and is held every August in Durham at the historic Carolina Theatre. The films range from features to documentaries to shorts, highlighting directors from across the country. In addition to screenings, the schedule includes a kick-off party, family-friendly events, and food trucks.


August 17-18: Charlotte Pride Festival  - Charlotte, North Carolina takes Pride to another level will major celebrations in August.  It has grown into one of the largest LGBTQ+ Pride organizations in the American Southeast since the organization began in 2001.  Local businesses in and around Charlotte participate throughout the entire festival with drag brunches, food stands, family zones, parties, and pageants throughout the weekend to celebrate. At last year’s Charlotte Pride event, there were over 275,000 people in attendance to celebrate 20+ years of Charlotte Pride and more than 40 years of the Pride legacy in the Queen City.


August 21-25: Austin, Texas - Every August, aGLIFF, the All Genders, Lifestyle and Identities Film Festival organization, hosts the Prism Film Festival. As the oldest and largest film festival of its kind in the region, the event brings together a selection of feature-length and short films showcasing the LGBTQ+ community. Grab a badge and stay for the full festival, or buy stand-alone tickets for specific showings.


August 22-24: Washington, DC - The National Trans Visibility March (NTVM) is an organization advocating for the visibility, equality and protection of all Transgender, Gender Nonconforming and Non-Binary (TGNCNB) people across the United States. NTVM each year mobilizes hundreds of thousands who march the streets and online to reaffirm that Trans rights are human rights and call for the abolition of anti-LGBTQ+ laws.


August 29-September 2: Duluth-Superior Pride Festival – celebrating 38 years of Pride in the Twin Ports, the festivities include the Mayor’s Opening Reception, art exhibitions, drag shows, youth and adult dances, the “Foo Foo Choo Choo” party train aboard the North Shore Scenic Railroad, parade, festival in Bayfront Park and more.


September 2024: Burlington, Vermont - The Pride Center of Vermont’s Pride Festival and Parade joyously lights up Vermont’s biggest city. The parade wraps up at Waterfront Park, where rainbow flags reflect on Lake Champlain and live music and food trucks celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. Vermont’s longstanding history of embracing LGBTQ+ rights includes being the first state to legislatively legalize same-sex marriage and the first to elect an out transgender lawmaker.


September 7: One of the biggest LGBTQ+ events in the state, the annual Northern Nevada Pride returns to Reno Tahoe in September to celebrate love, diversity, and inclusion. Produced by the local LGBTQ+ community center, Our Center, the event includes a parade through downtown Reno with live music and entertainment, in addition to a festival spotlighting local LGBTQ+ businesses.


September 7: Pride in the Park - La Crosse's free annual Pride celebration, held in the city's Riverside Park every September, offers visitors a family picnic, live musical performances, kids' activities and unique events like “So You Think You Can Drag?”


September 8: McMinnville, Oregon - Second Annual Wine Country Pride Street Fair in McMinnville—  Rainbows aren't just for June honey 😘  This event will feature food carts, retail, a kidz zone (bounce house, hello!) and entertainment from the main stage every hour.


September 12: Colorado Mountain Winefest Colorado Mountain Winefest was established in 1992 as the largest fundraiser for the Colorado Association for Viticulture & Enology (CAVE). Mountain Winefest has grown into the largest festival in its kind, drawing attendees from across the world and gaining recognition as the Best Wine Festival in the Nation from USA Today. All proceeds from the festival go back into the wine industry during a 4-day Trade Conference organized by CAVE called VinCO. This conference brings top experts in winemaking, grape growing and marketing to the Colorado wine industry to share their knowledge and expertise. September 14: Louisville Pride Festival - Held every September in Louisville’s Highlands neighborhood, this annual block party has become a staple end-of-summer event. The 2024 entertainment lineup includes Marzz, DJ Kim Sorise, DJ Warren Peace and more, along with a variety of drag performers across two stages. The day-long festival is held across multiple blocks on Bardstown Road, which is also home to some of the city’s most popular LGBTQ bars, including Chill Bar and Big Bar, which stay open late after the festival ends.


September 14: Richmond, Virginia – Experience the largest Pride celebration in Virginia at Pridefest! Live music, food and craft vendors, and good vibes all around attract 50,000+ attendees annually. This year's lineup will be announced soon, so check the VA Pride website often!


September 14, 2024: Carson City, Nevada – Nevada’s capital city is the perfect spot for visitors looking to explore the history of the American West with nearby access to outdoor adventures near Lake Tahoe, the Sierra Nevada mountains and more. It’s also home to a wide variety of arts and culture festivities, including Sassabration, the city’s LGBTQ+ Pride celebration. Sassabration will begin with a parade starting at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024 at the Brewery Arts Center located at 449 West King St. in Carson City, Nevada. Adam Whitney will lead the parade as grand marshal. The parade will feature pirate ships, Burning Man art cars, bicycles and walkers and will dance its way along the 2-mile route from the Brewery Arts Center to 1500 Old Hot Springs Road where the party will continue from noon to 8 p.m. with music, food and more in front of Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint, Carson Hot Springs Resort and Shoetree Brewing Co. September 15: Keene, New Hampshire - Keene Pride Festival, The largest pride festival in the Monadnock Region takes place in downtown Keene in September. More than 5,000 people attend this event that features more than 100 vendors including artisans, non-profit organizations, live music acts, food trucks, circus performers, drag queens, kings and more. 


September 21: Guerneville, CA - Russian River Pride - A day full of LGBTQ+ celebrations, including the signature Pride Parade through downtown Guerneville.


September 27-29: The 23rd Annual International Route 66 Mother Road Festival is presented by RECON TECHS. The cars, the music, the fun and nostalgia that Route 66 has brought to generations will return for a 23rd year, rolling into historic downtown Springfield September 27-29, 2024. Dennis Gage will be filming an episode of his popular show, My Classic Car, for Motor Trend Network on Friday & Saturday during the 2024 Festival! Chris Jacobs of the TV show Overhaulin' and co-host of SEMA Live, will also be a special guest of the festival. Registration is now open!


Sept. 27 - Oct. 6: Curaçao Pride 2024 - The Dutch Caribbean Island’s 12th annual pride event drawing thousands of visitors is back and bigger than ever this year. With a week full of lively events from a Pride Walk on Oct 3rd, a Queer Brunch, Rainbow Park Concert, and more, this love-filled celebration of diversity, equality, and the LGBTQ community in Curaçao is not to be missed!


September 28-29 Pride: Durham, NC leads Durham's annual celebration of equality on the last weekend in September. Its predecessor, NC Pride, served as the Tar Heel state's annual LGBTQIA festival, taking place each year in Durham. The parade draws thousands of costumed marchers alongside decorated floats and vehicles. Additional activities include festival vendors, speeches, and parties taking place around the Triangle. It's a great opportunity to support an inclusive community. Fun fact, Durham held the first-ever Pride parade in the state. This event has not been posted yet, but the website hyperlinked is from last year’s events.


October 2-6: Bourbon & Belonging - Considered the first LGBTQ+ inclusive Bourbon festival in the country, this Queer Bourbon Week event will take place across Kentucky in 8 different cities and regions including Northern Kentucky, Louisville, Lexington, Frankfort, Winchester, Paducah, Bullitt County, and Bardstown.


October 4-5: Knoxville, Tennessee – Knox PrideFest is an open celebration of music, entertainment and speakers focused on promoting equality and inclusion of all people.


October 5: Havre de Grace, Maryland - Meet artists, stroll through vendor booths and partake in fabulous food in a great setting at the base of the Concord Point Lighthouse at the Upper Chesapeake Bay Pride Festival. 


October 8-13: Iris Prize Festival, Cardiff, UK - Held every October, the annual Iris Prize Festival is Cardiff’s LGBTQIA+ alternative to Cannes. Visitors can watch LGBTQIA+ short films and features, attend panel discussions, participate in filmmaker Q&A sessions, and join legendary unmissable parties. The Iris Prize LGBTQIA+ Film Festival brings filmmakers from around the world to Cardiff in Wales to showcase queer stories and increase audiences' exposure to them.


October 19: Phoenix, AZ - Returning to Steele Indian Park near downtown Phoenix, the 43rd annual Phoenix Pride Festival will be the grandest to date. The 2024 Phoenix Pride Festival will take place from October 19-20, and will feature over 300 corporations, local business, and organizations in support of the LGBTQ+ community. Seven stages will be host to over 150 live performances over the two-day event, and several food vendors and artists will be offering their local creations to visitors. The annual Phoenix Pride Parade also takes place during the festival, with over 2,000 participants creating vibrant floats and handing out colorful swag to over 15,000 spectators. The 2024 Phoenix Pride Festival is expected to see over 55,000 guests in one of the largest celebrations of the LGBTQ+ community in the country.

May 23-June 8: Washington, DC - World Pride! The year 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of Pride in Washington, DC and we're celebrating by making it an all-out international experience. Join the momentous celebrations as the nation’s capital is painted with pride, featuring a variety of events to inspire, empower and connect the international LGBTQ+ community and their allies. Recurring Weekly: Ann Arbor, Michigan – LGBTQ Nights, North Star Lounge  7 PM | North Star Lounge is an intimate music venue and vegan bar with weekly LGBTQ events every Thursday. Make plans to visit for LGBTQ trivia and queer open mic nights.  


Recurring Weekly: Ann Arbor, Michigan – PRIDE Fridays, Necto Nightclub 9 PM | Every Friday night is PRIDE night at Necto Nightclub in Ann Arbor! Dance all night on the main floor often featuring special guests from RuPaul’s Drag Race and popular local performers. Album release parties happen in the Red Room, and step outside on the patio to chat with friends. Ages 18+
