Travelers can suit up in their best spurs and cowboy hats for the 50th Annual World Gay Rodeo finals in Reno Tahoe from October 9th-12th. Happening over National Coming Out Day on October 11, the “Biggest Little City” welcomes members of the community and allies alike to celebrate the return of this iconic event with an action-packed week of activities, including the finals of the International Gay Rodeo Association at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Event Center, dance workshops, night dances, and beyond. This celebration is not all hat and no cattle–it also helps raise donations for local charities, positively impacting the region's LGBTQIA+ communities.
In addition to the event, the destination is an urban basecamp laden with eclectic businesses, including the LGBTQIA+ owned The Emerson Bar and the 5 Star Saloon, adrenaline-packed activities, and a blossoming food and beverage scene. From picturesque hikes along the crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe, to savory & sweet bites from its underrated food and beverage scene, there is something for every kind of traveler.
