Visit Carson City is looking forward to spring and early summer 2022, as three highly-anticipated events get underway. Due to forced cancellations or postponements from the pandemic in 2020 and then the Caldor Fire in 2021, event organizers are determined to make each of these events perfect for those looking for a new adventure and travel experience.
Stetina’s Paydirt – May 21, 2022 Billing itself as the next frontier of Gravel Racing, the event’s namesake, professional cyclist Peter Stetina, discovered his love of gravel and spirit of exploration in The Pine Nut Mountains, a popular hiking and biking spot in Carson City, Nevada.
The Paydirt consists of two substantial timed segments to keep things competitive without separating competitors from dear friends in the dusty west of Nevada's desert. In addition to on-bike racing, there are two bonus segments that consist of fun and games back at the post-race festival. Riding a mechanical bull and participating in a tire-toss competition could be all that separates the competition at the end of the day.

Taste of Downtown – June 18, 2022
If hard-core mountain biking isn’t your thing, travelers looking to experience the culinary flavors of a region in just one day are encouraged to mark their calendars for Saturday, June 18, 2022. Visitors to the region will be delighted by the Taste of Downtown Carson City, an event featuring Carson City’s food and drink scene, which continues to experience a renaissance. The Taste has proven to be one of the biggest and best attended events in Carson City with 40 plus restaurants providing tantalizing tastes, 15 shops and galleries participating, and seven live bands playing into the warm summer evening. This “party with a purpose” benefits Advocates to End Domestic Violence.
Capital City Brewfest – June 25, 2022

The Great Western Steam Up – July 1-4, 2022
An event 150-years in the making! The Nevada Railroad Museum is commemorating the completion of Nevada’s famous Virginia & Truckee Railroad in style this Fourth of July Weekend with live music, Nevada artisans, historical trains and locomotives and more.
