Celebrate Autumn in Bellingham, Washington

Come to Bellingham, Washington in mid-October and enjoy four major events all in one fun-packed week. Crowd-favorite Bellingham SeaFeast returns October 14 and 15 to celebrate Bellingham’s rich maritime culture with live music, games, fresh seafood, and so much more. Another popular event, the Trails to Taps Relay takes place on October 15 and combines two of Bellingham’s best pastimes: trail running and drinking beer at breweries. Also, that weekend (as well as the weekend prior) is the Whatcom Artists Studio Tour, where local makers open up their studios to the public. Finally, from Oct 11-15, Bellingham is rolling out a new multi-sensory art and music festival, Bellingham Exit, with headlining acts from Delton 3030, The Hu, and Monet X Change from RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Halloween fans will also have their fill in Bellingham this fall. Throughout the season, local history walking tour guides, The Good Time Girls, offer tours of Bellingham’s famous Bayview Cemetery. The Good Time Girls also offer BellingQueerstory Tours, which explore Downtown Bellingham’s queer history, ending in a performance by Bellebrity Drag Queen Betty Desire and drink specials at Rumor’s Cabaret. For haunting short films, Pickford Film Center will screen its annual Bleedingham film festival, a showcase of horror films from the Northwest, as well as a new horror film series, Scream King. If you're more into mystery and imagination, head to the Hotel Leo for their new Unlock the Hotel Leo experience, an immersive, interactive adventure through the historic hotel’s most secret locations.

Fall is the season for film buffs in Bellingham. Each October, Pickford Film Center in Downtown Bellingham presents Doctober, the largest documentary film festival in the Pacific Northwest. The month-long festival screens more than 60 documentaries, along with featured guests, filmmakers, receptions, guided discussions, and more. Also in October is the Mt. Baker Film Fest.
