Celebrate Pride in the Canadian Rockies at Banff Pride

Banff Pride is returning to Banff National Park with a vibrant array of events to celebrate diversity and inclusion in an iconic Canadian destination. From October 4-14, those within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and allies are invited to enjoy 10 days of festivities in a spectacular mountain setting.

The celebration includes a phenomenal lineup of drag shows, live entertainment and queer conversations. In between the events, take advantage of the crisp mountain air and partake in accessible mountain adventures amongst the fall colors before the snowfall arrives.

  • This year’s Banff Pride lineup features 2SLGBTQIA+ artists and local talent, including stars of Canada’s Drag Race, Pythia and Scarlett Bobo, Vancouver drag icon, Jaylene Tyme, and Calgary’s Drag Queen and standup comedian, Karla Marx. Festival programming kicks off on October 4 with a flag raising ceremony and Pride March in downtown Banff. The festivities continue across town, from Banff Avenue to the peaks of Sulphur Mountain.

  • Notable events are returning, including drag brunches each weekend and the Pride Market on October 12, showcasing queer artisans and makers located at the historic Mason Hall. In partnership with Pursuit, Mountaintop Pride returns, boasting the highest elevation Pride celebration in Canada at Banff Gondola, featuring a queer marketplace, live local music, interactive photo booth, and more. Mountaintop Pride offers a full day of all-ages programming, featuring local sensations, Shane OnYou, Rip Em, Karla Marx and Dayna Hart. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the Banff Pride Society.

  • In addition to the Pride programming, festival attendees have the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the great outdoors, with experiences for all ages and interests. From scenic sunrise hikes to cycling roadways and paddling, this Pride festival invites guests to pack their most festive gear and their hiking boots. With an abundance of unique spots to explore, sightseeing tours in Banff and Lake Louise can help you check off the experiences highest on your bucket list.

  • At the end of the day, après-adventure at one of Banff’s restaurants and soak in the mountain vistas. New restaurants include Banff Social on Bear Street and the Fat Ox, dishing up alpine Italian cuisine. Pride inspired cocktails and desserts are available at select restaurants as part of ‘Taste the Rainbow’, with proceeds going to 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations.
