Celebrate the Holidays in Greater Wilmington, Delaware

Beautiful throughout the year, Nemours Estate is breathtaking during the holiday season. The 77-room du Pont mansion, modeled after Marie Antoinette’s Le Petit Trianon, is dressed to the nines. Nemours is aglow with elaborate table settings, spectacular floral displays, and an array of beautiful Christmas trees, garlands, and wreaths. Many of the family’s original ornaments and decorations are evident including a German crèche complete with soft ceramic, unglazed, and hand-colored figures dating to the late 19th century.

Holiday Lights Express

Experience the magic of riding aboard festively decorated, 100-year-old heated coaches, each of which are covered in thousands of holiday lights! Many trackside neighbors also decorate their homes and yards for passengers to enjoy during this 1-hour evening trip through the Red Clay Valley.

Santa Claus Express

Dates available from November 26, 2021 - December 19, 2021

Why stand in line at the mall and wait to see Santa, when you can ride the Wilmington & Western Railroad and have Santa come to you? The Jolly Old Elf rides the train, greets everyone on board, and gives all the children a chocolate treat! Be sure to bring your camera and have Santa pose for pictures during this 1½-hour round-trip to Ashland.

Christmas in Odessa

Christmas in Odessa is a self-guided walking tour of private homes and public buildings, many dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, decorated for the holidays. The tour will take place on December 4, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to the house tours, the town will also have many special events, which are included in the ticket price.
