Concert Review: Kylie Minogue at Voltaire in Las Vegas

Kylie Minogue brought a dazzling spectacle to the stage at the brand-new Voltaire located in the Venetian in Las Vegas, captivating the audience with a mesmerizing performance that showcased her enduring talent and iconic presence. From the moment the curtain rose, signaling the beginning of the show, to the final notes of "Love at First Sight," Kylie had the crowd on their feet and dancing the night away.

The opening trio of songs, "Light Years," "Your Disco Needs You," and "Come Into My World," set the tone for a night of pure pop perfection. Kylie's energy was infectious, and the production was nothing short of spectacular. The stage was a visual feast, with vibrant lights and a sense of glamour that befits the Las Vegas entertainment scene. The sound system at Voltaire was wonderful and you felt every beat.

There were many highlights of the evening, but special mention must be made of the performances of "Tension," and "Hold on to Now," from her latest album, and the unexpected cover of Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling In Love." Kylie demonstrated not only her vocal prowess but also her ability to connect emotionally with the audience, making each song a memorable experience.

She had come off a huge week, receiving the icon award at the BRIT Awards in London, followed by an additional icon award at the Billboard Women in Music Awards in Los Angeles. The night before my concert, she made a surprise appearance at Madonna’s LA show where the duo performed “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” and “I Will Survive.”

As the show progressed, the tempo picked up with the crowd-pleasers "Spinning Around" and "The Locomotion." The audience couldn't help but surrender to the infectious beats, and the entire venue became a sea of enthusiastic fans grooving to the music. "All the Lovers" was a poignant moment, creating a sense of unity and love among the crowd gathered at Voltaire.

For the encore, Kylie Minogue took the excitement to another level with her smash hit “Padam Padam" which was followed by the iconic "Can't Get You Out of My Head" which had the entire venue pulsating with energy, and Kylie's performance was a masterclass in pop perfection. Finally, she closed the night with "Love at First Sight," leaving the audience with an indelible memory of an unforgettable evening.

A Kylie Minogue concert is a celebration of music, love, and the enduring legacy of an international pop sensation. With her charm, talent, and a setlist that spanned her illustrious career, Kylie proved once again why she remains an icon in the music industry. The glittering lights of Las Vegas found their perfect match in Kylie's glittering performance, making it a night to remember for everyone lucky enough to be in the audience.

My only complaint about the evening was the venue itself. It is not set up to hold concerts. The general admission area is set far from the stage so if you aren’t lucky enough to get a spot on the rail, it is almost impossible to see. The venue should have developed a tiered GA area which would have made for better viewing, or they could add screens to the stage design. All in all, it was a good experience, however, I probably wouldn’t see Kylie at Voltaire again. I’d rather spend my money to see her full arena show in Europe.
