Hilton has made a splash in the U.S. Virgin Islands with the grand opening of Hampton by Hilton St. Thomas, marking the brand’s first property in the territory and Hilton’s latest move in its expanding Caribbean portfolio.
The 126-room hotel sits across from Havensight Mall and overlooks the turquoise waters of Long Bay, offering guests easy access to shopping, dining, and attractions in Charlotte Amalie. With Cyril E. King Airport just over four miles away, Magens Bay Beach less than five miles away, and the cruise pier nearby, the property is poised to serve both overnight guests and day-trippers eager to enjoy its amenities.
“Hampton by Hilton St. Thomas is more than just a new hotel—it’s our introduction of Hamptonality to the U.S. Virgin Islands,” said Shruti Gandhi Buckley, senior vice president and global brand head for Hampton by Hilton. Guests can expect the brand’s signature touches, from a complimentary hot breakfast featuring the famous Hampton waffle to premium bedding designed for a restful night’s sleep.
Owned by Haven Development and managed by Hotel Equities, the hotel blends modern style with a Caribbean flair. Interiors are awash in ocean-inspired blues and teals, while the property offers resort-style amenities including a 3,800-square-foot patio, a 2,000-square-foot pool deck, a fitness center, and The Helm, a full-service bar and lounge overlooking the harbor. A dedicated 850-square-foot event space is also available for meetings and gatherings.
According to Juan Corvinos, president of Caribbean and Latin America for Hotel Equities, the property is designed to meet the needs of both business and leisure travelers. “As the first international branded hotel on the island specifically built to accommodate business guests, while also providing a prime waterfront location for vacationers, this opening represents an important milestone for our team and for St. Thomas,” he said.
The launch also comes with a commitment to the local community. Haven Development has pledged ongoing support for charitable initiatives in the territory, including contributions to the Virgin Islands Department of Education to strengthen public school programs and resources.
Guests can also take advantage of the Hilton Honors loyalty program, earning and redeeming points for stays across Hilton’s global network. Hampton by Hilton is one of Hilton’s most prolific brands, with more than 3,100 properties worldwide and over 800 in development, including a strong pipeline in the Caribbean and Latin America.
With its prime location, thoughtful amenities, and dedication to both hospitality and community, Hampton by Hilton St. Thomas is set to become a welcoming new gateway for travelers to experience the beauty and culture of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
