Summer arrives in Hood River with unmistakable energy, and downtown’s historic Hood River Hotel is at the center of it all. From Pride celebrations and First Friday festivities to outdoor adventure, farm experiences, and scenic excursions, the Booking.com PROUD-Certified Hood River Hotel serves as a welcoming home base for visitors exploring the Columbia River Gorge this season.
June kicks off with the annual Hood River Pride Celebration on June 5-6, bringing a weekend of inclusive events, live entertainment, local vendors, and community programming to downtown Hood River. In collaboration with the Columbia Gorge Pride Alliance, Visit Hood River, The Next Door, Inc., and local partners, the Hood River Hotel will once again host a series of Pride events in the Emerald Room, serving as the center of the citywide festivities.
“Summer in Hood River brings together so many of the experiences that make this community special, from outdoor adventure and local agriculture to arts, culture, and events that create connection,” said James Pearrow, general manager of the Hood River Hotel. “The Hood River Hotel is proud to be part of a community that values inclusivity and welcomes people from all backgrounds.”

Beyond Pride weekend, Hood River’s summer season continues with a wide range of experiences throughout the Columbia River Gorge and Hood River Valley. The renowned Hood River County Fruit Loop enters peak season with farm stands, orchards, wineries, lavender fields, and cideries drawing travelers into the valley. Scenic e-bike rides and cycling routes connect visitors to agricultural experiences and panoramic mountain views, while the Mt. Hood Railroad offers historic train rides and railbike excursions through the valley’s landscapes.
Outdoor recreation remains a defining part of summer in Hood River, with opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, watersports, and waterfront recreation throughout the region. Downtown Hood River continues to serve as a hub for dining, breweries, shopping, and seasonal events throughout the summer months.
Located in the center of downtown, the Hood River Hotel provides direct access to many of the region’s signature summer experiences.
“At the Hood River Hotel, hospitality means creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable, included, and connected to the community around them,” added Pearrow. “That spirit is reflected throughout Pride weekend and across the entire summer season.”
