Hotel Review: Zoëtry Curaçao Resort & Spa

There are resorts where you stay, and then there are resorts that become part of the destination itself. Zoëtry Curaçao Resort & Spa falls firmly into the latter category. Tucked amid lush tropical landscaping near Willemstad, this intimate all-inclusive retreat manages to deliver the relaxation travelers crave from a Caribbean getaway while keeping the culture, dining and energy of Curaçao comfortably within reach.
From the moment you arrive, Zoëtry feels refreshingly removed from the sprawling mega-resort experience. With just 72 suites, the property has an intimate atmosphere that immediately encourages you to slow down. Tropical foliage surrounds the pathways and pool, creating quiet corners that feel worlds away from everyday life. The pace is decidedly relaxed, and that is exactly the point.

One of the resort’s greatest strengths is its approach to all-inclusive travel. Zoëtry elevates the concept beyond unlimited food and drinks with its Endless Privileges experience. Gourmet à la carte dining, premium beverages, 24-hour in-suite dining and a regularly refreshed minibar are among the inclusions, allowing guests to settle into vacation mode without constantly thinking about what costs extra.
Dining is a highlight. Rather than relying heavily on the traditional buffet experience associated with some all-inclusive properties, Zoëtry emphasizes à la carte meals and attentive service. Bloom brings international flavors together with Curaçaoan influences, while Botanica offers relaxed poolside dining and grilled specialties. There are also several inviting spots for cocktails and wine, making it easy to transition from an afternoon beside the pool to drinks before dinner.

The experience expands even further thanks to access to neighboring Dreams Curaçao Resort, Spa & Casino. A quick golf cart ride opens up additional dining, entertainment and beachfront options, including the adults-only Il Mare area with its infinity pool, bar and Mediterranean-inspired restaurant. It effectively gives Zoëtry guests the best of two resort experiences: the serenity of a smaller boutique property and the amenities of a much larger Caribbean resort nearby.
Of course, a trip to Curaçao should involve more than lounging beside the pool, although Zoëtry makes that temptation difficult to resist. The resort offers an assortment of activities that allow guests to be as active—or inactive—as they wish. Yoga and meditation complement the tranquil surroundings, while wine tastings, cooking experiences and Papiamentu lessons add a cultural dimension to the stay. Guests interested in the water can explore snorkeling and other aquatic activities, while the fitness center provides another option for maintaining a routine while traveling.
Those looking for pure relaxation can spend time at the spa or simply claim a comfortable spot beside the pool with a cocktail and nowhere else to be.
What makes Zoëtry particularly appealing, however, is its location. You can enjoy the cocoon of an all-inclusive resort without feeling isolated from Curaçao itself. Willemstad is only a short drive away, making it easy to spend part of the day exploring one of the Caribbean’s most visually distinctive cities.

The colorful Dutch Caribbean architecture lining Willemstad’s waterfront is reason enough to visit, but downtown offers much more. Spend an afternoon wandering through shops and boutiques, stop for a cocktail overlooking the water, explore the city’s historic streets or turn your visit into an evening of dinner and entertainment. Restaurants throughout the city provide another opportunity to experience Curaçao’s wonderfully diverse culinary personality.
One of my favorites is Haven Curaçao, located on the second floor of a shopping center with panoramic views of Willemstad. Haven has many great dining options, but the fish always reigns supreme. During my visit I tried the Tuna Tataki, Plantain Guacamole and Red Snapper. I was really surprised by how delicious the guacamole was. I never even thought to use plantains instead of avocados, so I was exposed to a culinary treat.

Zoëtry’s proximity to town creates an ideal balance. In the morning, you might enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a few hours beside the pool. By afternoon, you can walk through downtown Willemstad. After shopping and sightseeing, return to Zoëtry for dinner, cocktails and a peaceful evening surrounded by tropical gardens.
For travelers who sometimes hesitate to book an all-inclusive because they fear feeling disconnected from the destination, Zoëtry Curaçao offers a compelling alternative. Everything you need for an indulgent Caribbean vacation is readily available, but the island itself remains wonderfully accessible.
It is luxurious without feeling overwhelming, relaxing without becoming boring and ideally situated for travelers who actually want to experience Curaçao beyond the resort gates.
For me, that combination is exactly what a Caribbean vacation should be.
