Color, Culture & Community: A Vibrant LGBTQ Fall in Kalamazoo

The fall leaves won’t be the only beautiful colors in Kalamazoo County, Michigan this season! Brush the Block is a brand-new mural festival taking place September 2 – 7, 2025 and encourages you to enjoy a week of color, creativity, and connection! During this festival, attendees will enjoy shopping art vendors, listening to live music, touring historic neighborhood districts, and watching six new murals come to life in Downtown Kalamazoo.


During the festivities, you will want to try out the new Lobby Bar, which is the latest addition to the Radisson Plaza Hotel & Suites. Featuring high-quality crafted cocktails and a mocktail menu, the Lobby Bar blends sophistication with a welcoming ambiance so you can relax and enjoy a drink during the artistic festivities.

Bells Brewery

The fall festivities continue at Bell’s Brewery and Eccentric Café, where they are ready to host their 40th Anniversary Garden Party. So, it’s time to turn back time and party like it’s 1985! The Midwest’s raddest 1980s tribute band, known as 1985, will be performing their Totally 80’s Mixtape live at the anniversary party. In addition to the live music, enjoy throwback beers on tap and throwback fan favorite menu items.


Air Zoo

Finally, you can soar to new heights at the newest exhibit at the Air Zoo! Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits invites you to challenge yourself as you jump, fly, dive, and climb while exploring some of the most extreme sports in the world. The exhibit features a parkour course, virtual racing, a wingsuit simulator, climbing walls, and more. This exhibit is open until October 31st, 2025, so don’t miss out on this great adventure!
