Laid-Back Luxury in the Jungle: The Nomadic Hotel in Nosara, Costa Rica

The Nomadic Hotel
The Nomadic Hotel

Klima is thrilled to collaborate with The Nomadic Hotel, a boutique escape nestled in the heart of Nosara—a vibrant surf town on Costa Rica’s Guanacaste Peninsula. Just a five-minute walk from Playa Guiones, one of the country’s most iconic surf breaks, The Nomadic blends laid-back luxury with immersive local experiences, all surrounded by the lush jungle and steps from the Pacific Ocean.

A Boutique Haven for Curious Travelers

With only 12 thoughtfully designed rooms, The Nomadic Hotel offers an intimate setting perfect for solo travelers, couples, and groups of friends. Guests aged 10 and older can choose from a variety of accommodations, including a fully equipped one-bedroom apartment, stylish king and queen rooms, or a cozy four-bed bunk room ideal for groups.

Global Design, Local Soul

The hotel is the vision of a young family from Georgia, who drew inspiration from their travels around the globe. The result is an architectural blend that seamlessly weaves together Mexican concrete and wood, Moroccan lighting, and Balinese thatched roofs—all grounded in Costa Rican culture and landscape.

Local architecture firm Salagnac Arquitectos, known for harmonizing built spaces with nature, brought the hotel to life with an emphasis on sustainability. Rooms open onto private terraces, blurring the lines between indoor comfort and outdoor serenity.

Culinary Roots and Rituals

Each morning at The Nomadic begins with a complimentary, organic breakfast featuring a rotating menu of favorites like banana pancakes, Costa Rican gallo pinto with plantains, or hearty breakfast burritos. Meals are always accompanied by fresh fruit, local coffee, and fresh juices.

\Throughout the day, guests can enjoy smoothies, light poolside snacks, açai bowls, and house-made banana bread, along with beer, wine, and signature cocktails—don’t miss the Nomadic Margarita or its coconut-infused counterpart.

Surf, Explore, and Connect

The Nomadic isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a gateway to adventure. Complimentary bikes help guests explore Nosara’s scenic surroundings, while the hotel staff can arrange everything from surf lessons and horseback riding to spearfishing, standup paddleboarding, and yoga sessions.

Nosara is one of Costa Rica’s most cherished surf towns, with consistent year-round waves perfect for all levels. It’s also home to the Ostional National Wildlife Refuge, a protected area known for its pristine beaches and rich biodiversity.

A Blue Zone of Wellness

Set on the Nicoya Peninsula—one of the world’s five Blue Zones where residents enjoy notably long and healthy lives—Nosara is a hub for wellness seekers. The area’s emphasis on fresh, local food, active living, and community connection creates the perfect atmosphere for restoration and self-care.

Yoga is a central part of the Nosara lifestyle, with year-round classes, workshops, and retreats. Upcoming retreats at The Nomadic include:

  • Blue Zone Bliss: A Pura Vida Yoga Retreat – February 2–7, 2026

  • Yoga with Erika Gibson – February 9–14, 2026

  • Suntia Smith Retreat – March 7–12, 2026

A Commitment to Sustainability

Since opening in 2016, The Nomadic has embraced sustainability at its core. Greywater is repurposed for irrigation, composting is done on-site, and locally sourced products are used to reduce environmental impact. Wildlife sightings are common—from curious coatis to roseate spoonbills—adding to the natural magic of the stay.

Getting There

The closest international airport is Liberia (LIR), located about 2–3 hours from Nosara by car. Once in town, guests find themselves in a tropical oasis where adventure, relaxation, and authenticity converge.

Rates start at approximately $200 USD per night.

Whether you're chasing waves, seeking stillness, or simply craving an authentic Costa Rican escape, The Nomadic Hotel is the perfect place to unplug, unwind, and connect—with nature, community, and yourself.
