Pride Journey Summer Getaway: Washington D.C.

Those looking to plan a fun summer getaway to Washington, DC should look no further than these two luxury properties from international hospitality company Lore Group.

Debuting this April in the capital’s vibrant Dupont Circle neighborhood, Lyle Washington DC is housed in an early 1940s Art Deco building constructed originally to house apartments. Lore Group Creative Director Jacu Strauss designed the property with soft Art Deco references in celebration of the building’s original features. Guests will enjoy the hotel's neighborhood restaurant and bar, Lyle’s, serving breakfast, brunch and dinner as well as familiar cocktails prepared with a gentle twist and seasonal, contemporary American fare. Lyle is a pet-friendly hotel, so travelers are welcome to bring their furry friends and will receive items including water and food bowls, a cozy dog bed and homemade doggy treats as well as advice on the best local dog parks and best neighborhood walks. Those traveling to DC during the weekdays can book the hotel's special Work from Lyle offer, which includes complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, complimentary morning coffee, and use of the Lyle Gym.

Another option for travelers to the capital city is Riggs Washington DC — a luxe, one-of-a-kind hotel in Penn Quarter, set in a historic building once home to Riggs National Bank — which features 181 guest rooms and suites. Paying homage to the building’s legacy, each room is reminiscent of a private safety deposit box. For a special experience, travelers can book the hotel’s iconic First Lady Suites. Each one with a unique personality all its own, this collection of suites pays homage to four historic White House residents: Ida McKinley, Caroline Harrison, Louisa Adams, and Angelica Van Buren. Guests can expect room features such as a baby grand piano, opulent motifs, intricate floral design, freestanding soaking tubs, and separate living rooms. The hotel features Café Riggs, serving an all-day menu and a weekend brunch of elixirs, freshly baked pastries, and decadent classics like French toast with maple, bacon, and pecan. Guests will enjoy the summer sun at Riggs' Rooftop Bar while sipping on Mediterranean inspired aperitifs and overlooking the panoramic views of Penn Quarter.
