Tempo by Hilton Times Square delivers exactly what many LGBTQ+ travelers look for in New York City: a stylish, centrally located hotel that feels modern, welcoming, and effortlessly plugged into the energy of the city without being overwhelming.

Rising above the bright lights of Times Square, Tempo by Hilton is sleek and design-forward from the moment you arrive. The lobby sets the tone with clean lines, calming neutral tones, and an atmosphere that feels more boutique than big-brand. Check-in is smooth and friendly, with staff who strike that perfect balance between professional and genuinely warm—always ready with dining recommendations, Broadway tips, or directions to the nearest subway line (which, conveniently, is just steps away).
The rooms are a standout, especially by Times Square standards. Thoughtfully designed with wellness in mind, they feel surprisingly serene for such a high-energy location. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame iconic city views, while blackout curtains ensure a restful night’s sleep. Beds are exceptionally comfortable, with high-quality linens, and the tech-forward features—Bluetooth speakers, streaming-ready TVs, and multiple charging ports—make the space feel tailored to today’s traveler. Bathrooms are bright and modern, with walk-in showers and premium bath amenities that elevate the stay.
Location is one of Tempo’s greatest strengths. Sitting right in the heart of Times Square, the hotel places guests within walking distance of Broadway theaters, Fifth Avenue shopping, Hell’s Kitchen dining, and easy transit to LGBTQ+ nightlife hubs like Hells Kitchen, Chelsea and the West Village. Despite its prime location, the hotel manages to maintain a calm, composed vibe once you’re inside—an impressive feat in this part of Manhattan.
Dining at Tempo is refreshingly thoughtful. The on-site restaurant and bar focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients and offer a relaxed yet refined setting for breakfast, cocktails, or a casual dinner. It’s an ideal spot to start the day before sightseeing or unwind with a drink after a night out or a Broadway show.
Guests also have access to a full gym offering a variety of high-end cardio and weight equipment. This seems to be an overlooked feature of the property as nobody except me was using the gym during my stay.

For LGBTQ+ travelers, Tempo by Hilton Times Square feels inclusive without being performative. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is respectful and affirming, and the hotel’s overall energy aligns well with Pride Journeys’ audience—travelers who appreciate comfort, style, and authenticity. Whether you’re in New York for Pride, a cultural getaway, or a spontaneous city escape, Tempo by Hilton Times Square offers a polished home base that puts the best of the city right at your doorstep while still giving you space to recharge.
In a city where hotel options are endless, Tempo by Hilton Times Square stands out as a smart, stylish choice that delivers comfort, convenience, and a sense of calm amid the buzz of New York City.
