Top Things to do this Winter in Minneapolis



Minneapolis embraces the winter season with plenty of events and activities to keep busy. The Great Northern celebrates cold, creative winters with diverse programming, such as the Sauna Village, Climate Solutions Series and 100-ft long Ice Bar. The festival runs from Jan. 25 – Feb. 4 and includes more than 50 events.


The City of Lakes Loppet Winter Festival on Feb. 3-4 includes the Luminary Loppet on Feb. 3, a variety of point-to-point Cross-Country Ski, Fat-Tire Bike, Skijor, and Snowshoe events, races and touring events through Theodore Wirth Park, and more. Minneapolis will also welcome the best cross-country ski racers in the world to Theodore Wirth Park for the COOP FIS Cross-Country World Cup over the President’s Day weekend. This marks the first time the event has been held in the U.S. in 20 years.


Winter SKOLstice will host over 100 days of holiday and winter activities until Feb. 25, including a drive-through light experience, holiday tree, Warming Haus, markets, ice skating, pond hockey and more. For more winter festivities in Minneapolis, visit Minneapolis.org.
