Crafty and festive winter holiday events are right around the corner in Rancho Cordova. Get ready for the holiday season early with November’s Monthly Marbling Meetup hosted by Heart Craft Studio. During the event, you’ll learn the ancient art of water marbling, using the technique to create a unique set of six shatterproof ornaments. Scheduled for Nov. 15 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, the event is geared towards teens and adults.
The Monthly Marbling Meetup isn’t the only winter holiday event organized by Heart Craft Studio. On Nov. 26 from 10 am to 2 pm, the studio will celebrate its one-year anniversary with its Second Annual Holiday Market. Shop early for the holidays by perusing the collection of local vendors at the market. And if you’re feeling crafty, there will be a handful of fun make-and-take projects.
Need another dose of shopping? If so, head on over to the Mills Station Arts & Culture for the 8th annual Winter Art Fest. This free event will feature artists with “small stocking stuffer gifts to elegant art for that special someone in your life.”
For those who celebrate Christmas, the Cordova Community Council will host their annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Village Green Park on Nov. 27 from 4:30 pm to 7 pm. Another free event, the Christmas Tree Lighting draws thousands of members from the community each year. There will be food trucks, fireworks, snow and maybe even Santa will make an appearance.
Speaking of trees, maybe you’re still searching for the perfect one for your abode. Well, hop on Highway 50 and head to Apple Hill, where there are a plethora of farms specializing in Christmas trees. To learn more, check out our guide about where to find Christmas trees in Apple Hill.
