Celebrate Pride in Urbana, Illinois September 29-30

The largest pride celebration south of Chicago takes place here in Urbana each fall when University of Illinois students return to campus. From a parade that winds its way downtown to drag shows and family-friendly activities, the event from Uniting Pride of Champaign County celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community and allies. This year’s event kicks off with a Queer Homecoming at the Canopy Club, a fair on the streets of Downtown Urbana featuring community organizations and vendors. The parade kicks off at 2:30pm ending at the vendor. That evening head back to the Canopy Club for a Drag Extravaganza starring Lala Ri, currently on RuPaul’s Drag Race.
