Conrad Hamburg Opens in Historic Levantehaus, Marking Hilton’s Luxury Debut in Germany

Conrad Hamburg

Hilton has officially announced the opening of Conrad Hamburg, a landmark debut for the luxury Conrad Hotels & Resorts brand in Germany. The highly anticipated property features 283 elegant guest rooms and suites, housed within the historic Levantehaus, a celebrated Art Nouveau building designed in 1912 by Franz Bach and Carl Bensel.

Blending architectural heritage with modern design, Conrad Hamburg positions itself as an art-filled urban sanctuary. The hotel showcases a curated collection of German contemporary artworks, including striking installations such as Ada Isensee’s coloured leaded glass ceiling—visible from every floor as a vibrant centrepiece that unites the hotel’s spaces.

Luxurious Accommodations

Guest rooms and suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Hamburg’s evolving cityscape. Interiors draw inspiration from the city’s maritime and industrial roots, with a sophisticated palette of deep blues, copper tones, warm greys, and dark reds. The property includes 28 studio rooms with kitchenettes and 29 expansive suites.

The crown jewel is the Presidential Suite, spanning 232 square metres with a private balcony, fireplace, and lavish living areas. Equipped with modern comforts such as an espresso machine, the suite sets a new standard for luxury hospitality in Hamburg.

Wellness & Relaxation

Guests can enjoy a 1,000-square-metre spa and fitness area, including a state-of-the-art gym and Hamburg’s longest indoor pool, opening soon. The spa will offer luxury treatments, sauna and steam baths, and an array of wellness services designed for ultimate relaxation.

Culinary Highlights at GRETA OTO

Conrad Hamburg introduces GRETA OTO, a restaurant inspired by the transparency and metamorphosis of its namesake butterfly. The dining experience celebrates vibrant Latin American cuisine, with dishes such as Peruvian ceviche, Brazilian beef tenderloin, and grilled octopus. Seating accommodates 110 guests indoors and 48 on a sunny courtyard terrace, making it a dynamic social hub.

For exclusive gatherings, La Mesa provides a private dining room for up to 12 guests, while the GRETA OTO Bar serves signature cocktails—including the GRETA OTO Pisco Sour—in an elegant setting with an adjacent cigar lounge.

A New Chapter for Hilton Luxury in Europe

“With Conrad Hamburg, we’re not just expanding our award-winning luxury brand, we’re making a statement about our commitment to Europe’s most iconic destinations and to the German market,” said Simon Vincent CBE, president, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Hilton.

Dino Michael, senior vice president and category head, luxury brands at Hilton, added: “The debut of Conrad Hamburg expands our guests’ opportunities to immerse themselves in one of Europe’s most dynamic cultural destinations.”

With its blend of heritage, contemporary art, wellness, and gastronomy, Conrad Hamburg is set to become a destination in itself, offering travelers and locals alike an authentic gateway into Hamburg’s rich cultural landscape.
