Explore York to Host Cultural Fair as Part of York’s Independence Day Celebration

Explore York

Explore York is coordinating a Cultural Fair as part of York’s Independence Day Celebration, inviting residents and visitors to enjoy family-friendly activities, cultural experiences, and community connection from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 4, in front of the York County History Center.

As America prepares to commemorate its 250th anniversary, the Cultural Fair offers an opportunity for the community to come together in celebration. Guests can enjoy hands-on activities, local traditions, and family-friendly entertainment in a welcoming atmosphere, including face painting, balloon twisting, crafts, cultural activities, a bounce house, and free Maple donuts sponsored by Explore York. More than 25 vendors and community organizations are participating in the event, located in the York County Heritage Rail Trail Parking Lot on N. Pershing Avenue. The event is free, open to the public, and will take place rain or shine.

“America only turns 250 once, and the Cultural Fair provides a unique opportunity to reflect on the people, traditions, and experiences that have helped shape our community and our country,” said Laura Wagner, President of Explore York. “As we celebrate this historic milestone, we invite residents and visitors alike to come together, learn something new, enjoy family-friendly activities, and experience the rich heritage that makes York County such a special place.”

Additional activities throughout the day include:

• Bell ringing across York County at noon

• Afternoon program at 12:15 p.m. on the lawn outside the Colonial Courthouse

• York Revolution Pre-Game Plaza Activities at WellSpan Park at 2:30 p.m.

• Factory Whistle performing patriotic music at 3:45 p.m.

• In-Field Parade of Veterans at WellSpan Park at 4:15 p.m.

• First Pitch/Game Start at 5:00 p.m.

• York Revolution vs. Lancaster Stormers baseball game at 5:30 p.m.

• WellSpan Park gates open to the public at 7:00 p.m.

• York Symphony Orchestra concert at 8:30 p.m.

• Fireworks at dusk

To accommodate the event, N. Pershing Avenue, from Philadelphia Street to Gay Street, will be closed. This includes the section directly in front of the York County History Center entrance and the parking lot across from the History Center’s main entrance.

Vendors participating in the Cultural Fair will be located in the York County Heritage Rail Trail Parking Lot on N. Pershing Avenue.
