Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has reached a significant milestone in its Canadian growth strategy, with more than 200 hotels now open and welcoming travelers across the country. This achievement, marked by the recent openings of Hôtel Vallea Bromont, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Home2 Suites by Hilton Woodstock ON, and Spark by Hilton Toronto Mississauga, highlights the company’s successful multi-brand expansion and commitment to hospitality innovation.

“Surpassing 200 open hotels in Canada is a powerful testament to our momentum in the market,” said Matt Wehling, senior vice president, development, U.S. and Canada, Hilton. “This success is fueled by the strong relationships we’ve built with our owners, supported by our regional, in-market expertise that reinforces our long-term development strategy and drives operational excellence at every stage. With a strategic brand mix of existing hotels and a robust pipeline of more than 100 properties across multiple brands, we’re excited to continue expanding across Canada’s most sought-after and emerging destinations—delivering exceptional value for our partners and meeting the evolving needs of our guests from coast to coast.”

Focused Service, Extended Stay, and Lifestyle Growth

Over the past decade, Hilton has nearly doubled its footprint in Canada, driven largely by the rapid expansion of its focused service brands. Hampton by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Tru by Hilton, and Spark by Hilton account for nearly half of the company’s portfolio growth, with Spark by Hilton making its Canadian debut last year in Markham.

Extended stay hotels have also been a standout category. Homewood Suites by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton have doubled in size over the past 10 years, responding to increasing demand from both business and leisure travelers seeking longer-term accommodations.

Hilton is also seeing momentum in its lifestyle brands. Properties under the Tapestry Collection by Hilton have opened recently in Montreal, Bromont, and Niagara Falls, while Revery Toronto Downtown, part of Curio Collection by Hilton, debuted last year. The launch of Canopy by Hilton Toronto in 2023 marked another lifestyle milestone as the brand’s first location in Canada.

Pipeline Expands With New Brands

Looking ahead, Hilton plans to introduce even more variety to Canadian travelers. The first Motto by Hilton is scheduled to open in Montreal in 2028, and Canada’s first Tempo by Hilton will debut in Toronto in 2029. More than 100 hotels are currently in Hilton’s Canadian pipeline, including over 20 properties set to open within the next year. Highlights include DoubleTree by Hilton North Vancouver, Hampton Inn by Hilton Calgary Downtown, Homewood Suites by Hilton Surrey, and Tru by Hilton Milton.

Several Spark by Hilton properties are also slated to open in Calgary, Toronto, and Montreal, further cementing Hilton’s multi-brand approach in key leisure and business markets.

Coast-to-Coast Expansion

From major city centers to emerging leisure hubs, Hilton’s multi-brand strategy is redefining hospitality across Canada. By combining focused service, extended stay, and lifestyle hotels, Hilton continues to meet the evolving needs of guests while creating new opportunities for owners and developers. With a strong pipeline and proven market demand, Hilton’s next chapter of growth in Canada is only just beginning.
