Le Sereno, the intimate, award-winning beachfront property designed by the late Christian Liaigre, located on the pristine Grand Cul de Sac in St. Barths, reopened its doors in December to welcome guests. Following a complete property rebuild in 2019, including a luxurious spa with treatments from acclaimed Swiss skincare brand Valmont, new family suites, reimagined and renovated restaurant offering panoramic ocean views and extended beach area, Plage, designed by Patricia Urquiola.
The award-winning island of St. Barth’s cleverly blends the sophistication of St. Tropez with the laissez-fare Caribbean lifestyle—which means it’s exclusive yet unpretentious. The 11-mile-long island features dramatic volcanic and coral landscapes, along with twenty-two beautiful beaches and numerous top dining options, an ideal location for reflection and relaxation this winter and beyond.
“It has been a challenging year for the industry, but we are delighted to welcome our guests back to Le Sereno as we open our doors and launch exciting new experiences for the 2021 season,” said Samy Ghachem, Managing Director of Sereno Hotels. “We look forward to providing our guests with world-class cuisine inspired by our sister property, Il Sereno Lago di Como, design-driven accommodation with offerings for larger groups and of course, the relaxed and luxury service that they know and love. Guests can rest assured our staff and procedures are above and beyond, having just finished our season at Il Sereno in Lake Como.”
“Following damage from the passing of Hurricane Irma my family decided to demolish and to completely rebuild from scratch a significant part of the property, including more than half the rooms and all the public spaces, while maintaining the iconic style of Le Sereno which has a devoted following amongst guests. In the true spirit of ‘plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose’, we worked on a complete rebuild, while keeping the essence of the hotel intact” said Luis Contreras, Founder of Sereno Hotels “the craziness of this year meant our guests weren’t able to experience to the fullest this brand new hotel and we are looking forward to our grand reopening.”
Le Sereno’s Suite Piscines, new for the 2020 season, have the option to connect rooms and feature two large, heated pools. When adjoined, the new suites offer a private villa experience for groups, that overlooks the lagoon.
Trio of Le Sereno Villas
For those looking for complete privacy, ‘long stay’ options for a break from what has become normal life or to work in serenity; Le Sereno Villas, considered one of St. Barths best villa options, offers a high degree of exclusivity, nestled in landscaped terraced gardens, adjacent to the hotel pool and restaurant and overlooking the turquoise bay, each with a private pool and 24-hour service. Villa guests will enjoy all of the hotel’s five-star amenities, as well as access to what many believe, one of the finest dining options on the island. Late Parisian designer Christian Liaigre, designed the trio of Le Sereno villas, each with over 7,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, to take advantage of the dramatic views that overlook the full expanse of the Grand Cul de Sac. The villa design focuses on simplicity, serenity, and attention to detail, with ample use of warm and natural textures of varying woods and stones that contrast with the dramatic colours of the view. The emphasis on the green vegetation and movement of water adds to the ambience and character of the build. Guests can expect VIP service, including private chefs, exclusive butler service and event management, making Le Sereno Villas a superior experience amongst the St Barths villas. For larger groups all three villas can be booked and, due to their position, connected to provide a seamless holiday experience.
