Marriott International celebrates Pride Month



Global hospitality leader celebrates love and inclusion during the month of June in celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride with activities across the region Marriott International is proud to once again welcome and show its support for the LGBTQ+ community in the Caribbean and Latin America during June's Pride celebration. The hotel company's hotels in the region are ready to celebrate with multiple unique activities, including talks, exhibitions, catwalks and illuminating their facades with rainbow colors.


"In 2014 we launched #LoveTravels, our largest multicultural campaign, which conveys our commitment to making every traveler feel comfortable being who they are, wherever they travel. Travel is truly one of the most powerful tools for promoting peace and cultural understanding. Our #LoveTravels message has continued to evolve into a universal theme that speaks to everyone," said Brian King, president for the Caribbean & Latin America region.


CAMP QUEER - W COSTA RICA RESERVA CONCHAL

In Guanacaste, at the W Costa Rica, on June 16, the PRIDE Market will take place, a space that will allow the public to enjoy an exhibition of different entrepreneurs of the LGBTQ+ community, it will be possible to make visible and celebrate the talents and projects. In addition, enjoy a live painting show with different disciplines such as body painting, art, graffiti, among others. Similarly, on June 23 there will be a musical showcase of the LGBTQ+ community with the participation of DJs, bands and soloists.




DRAG POP ART AND CONVERSATION - W PANAMA

The W Panama marks a milestone by becoming the first hotel in Panama to receive the Queer Destinations Committed accreditation, which accredits it as a committed, trained and safe hotel to receive the LGBTQ+ segment. As part of the activities that the hotel will be preparing for Pride month is the Drag Pop Art, which is a catwalk and coronation of the Pride 2023 queen. The event will take place next Saturday, June 17, starting at 9 pm in the living room LB floor.


Likewise, they will hold a Pride conversation on Monday, June 26 through which different topics of diversity and inclusion of Marriott International and the support that the company provides to the LGBTQ+ community will be discussed.

The W Bogota is preparing a diversity panel on Thursday, June 29 to discuss Marriott International's diversity and inclusion efforts and the company's support of the LGBTQ+ community. The panel will include the participation of spokesperson Felipe Cardenas, president of the IGLTA Council, María José Silva, Vacation Tourism Manager of ProColombia, Sam Cataneda, CEO OUT in Colombia Travel and Gustavo Lovera, General Manager of W Bogota. The panel will be moderated by influencers and content creators of Our Daily Lives, Camilo Quintero and Jose Vergara.



INCLUSIVE ART EXHIBITION - MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL PERU HOTELS

The hotels Sheraton Lima Historic Center, JW Marriott Lima, Courtyard Lima Miraflores, Fairfield Lima Miraflores and JW Marriott El Convento Cusco, prepare an art exhibition in the lobby of each hotel where works of different artists from the LGBTQ+ community and allies will be presented. With this initiative the hotels support diversity and the power of art to promote inclusion. The exhibitions will be available from June 19 to 23.
