Portland’s Wildfang and Iconic Queens Take On World Record Attempt for Longest Drag Performance

Portland, Oregon has arguably one of the most vibrant drag scenes in America, where trailblazers and LGBTQ activists like the late Walter Cole – known lovingly as Darcelle, and still holding the title of World’s Oldest Working Drag Performer – continue to build a community of love, support and epic performances you can find from breakfast to late-night.

In opposition to the current anti-drag legislation, Gender non-conforming retailer Wildfang, alongside famed drag venue Darcelle XV, is setting out to break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Drag Performance.

Drag-A-Thon 2023 is a 48-hour glittery extravaganza that will also double as a fundraiser to support The Trevor Project’s legislative work and crisis support services for queer and trans youth. The current world record for longest drag performance took place in Melbourne, Australia, clocking in at 36 hours, 36 minutes and 40 seconds six years ago.

Hosts, star-studded performers and celebrity advocates and attendees for (and throughout) the two-day event include local icon including Poison Waters, plus Peppermint, Busy Philips, Frankie Grande, Cameron Esposito, Cheryl Strayed, Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein, Punkie Johnson, and many more.
