Pride Journey Property Review: W Dallas - Victory

Everything happens for a reason. I was supposed to visit Bogota, Colombia a few weeks ago, but a set of circumstances left me stranded in Dallas for a few nights. I decided to turn a negative into a positive and check in to the W Dallas - Victory, a property that I had seen many times during previous visits to the area, but never had a chance to stay at.

The super cheek property is in the trendy Victory Park neighborhood, within walking distance of the American Airlines arena, countless restaurants, boutique fitness centers and the Perot Museum of Nature & Science.

The lobby instantly transports you to South Beach with its soaring ceilings, sleek lines, and lots of bling. Living Room Bar is adjacent to the lobby and is worth the trip alone. Crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling, dramatically complimenting the leather-bound chairs and wooden tables.

Across the hall is Villa Azur Restaurant & Lounge, the hotel’s main restaurant. For dinner, I ordered the Dover Sole Meunière, prepared tableside and served in a caper, lemon, and brown butter sauce. It was a little pricey given the portion size, but the dish was delicious.

One of the most dramatic features of the W Hotel – Victory is Wet Bar, which offers panoramic views of the Dallas skyline and serves a delicious assortment of specialty cocktails.

Not to be outdone, was the glorious suite I called home during my stay which contained a full living area and dining room table separate from the bedroom space. The extra-large shower was also quite wonderful after a long day of touring the city.

I enjoyed everything about this property and would highly recommend it to leisure of business travelers looking for a fun but upscale place to stay in Dallas.
