Property Update: The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa

On the heels of a multi-million-dollar renovation, The Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa has officially changed their name to The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa. When the resort was originally built in 1987, the tourism powerhouse of the Coachella Valley was Palm Springs, hence why the hotel was not originally named for its location in Rancho Mirage. Since the resorts inception Rancho Mirage has blossomed as a tourism destination in its own right. As the hotel prepares to complete their $15 million dollar property-wide renovation they felt now was the time for a name change that reflects the destination the resort calls home, Rancho Mirage.

Mayor of Rancho Mirage, Ted Weill had this to say, “The Westin Resort and Spa has been an iconic Rancho Mirage retreat for nearly 35 years. We are delighted that the Westin and their ownership group have made these beautiful enhancements to the resort. The City is honored that the Westin chooses to align their brand with the luxury, class and cachet associated with the 92270 zip code. The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort and Spa has a nice ring to it and we look forward to welcoming visitors from around the world to this beautiful resort and our great city”.

“Rancho Mirage has been through quite a transformation itself and has really become a tourism destination on its own. It’s a unique area with first class visitor experiences such as the historic Sunnylands Estate and the new state-of-the-art Rancho Mirage Observatory. With this new name we want to highlight the amazing city we’re located in.” says Thomas Scaramellino, General Manager of The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa.

With this transformation, The Westin is bringing forth a whole new tranquil atmosphere on property weaving wellness throughout the resort experience. The resort’s new Director of Spa & Wellness is incorporating wellness through unique in-room spa offerings, healthy restaurant menu options, new treatments, and incorporating wellness activities and classes into the resort’s programming. The Westin has always aligned itself as a leading-edge wellness brand, focused on the pillars of Sleep Well, Move Well, Eat Well, Play Well and Work Well, and with this renovation they’re expanding it further than just the spa.
