Show Review: AirOtic Soiree, New York City

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to attend the brand new AirOtic Soiree, which takes place in a beautiful theatre/club in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York City. Having attended numerous Cirque du Soleil shows in the past, I wasn’t sure what to expect in terms of the level of acrobatics, however I was pleasantly surprised by the complexity of the performances given by the 4 aerialists.

There are many different ticket levels to choose from, but my guest and I opted for the VIP ticket which includes a tapas-style dinner. We dined on a variety of dishes ranging from tuna tartare to spring rolls. Every item on the platter was delicious and the meal was completed by a dessert trio highlighted by a scrumptious tiramisu.

The hour-long show contains about a dozen different segments and is truly the level of a Las Vegas performance. I saw things that I had never seen before. Plus, the performers were wearing next to nothing, which made the show even more fun. The music choices used to complement the performances was also something I thoroughly enjoyed. The show included remixes of songs by Britney and Christina as well as two songs by Kylie Minogue!

My only complaint was the price of cocktails at HK Hall. This of course has nothing to do with the show itself, but $20 for a glass of bad wine is a little steep.

Overall, I highly recommend buying tickets to the show the next time you visit NYC!
