South Walton’s 16 beach towns are renowned for its natural scenic beauty, turquoise waters, and sugar sand beaches. The destination offers an upscale-meets-casual retreat that is the perfect place for visitors to rejuvenate, unwind and build lasting memories this holiday season. After a day at the beach or some last-minute shopping, visitors can embark on a self-guided tour of holiday lights through South Walton, starting on the east end in Inlet Beach. The wintertime activities/events at the Village of Baytowne Wharf (Sandestin’s walkable town center) bring wintertime fun to the Florida Panhandle and feature real snow, light displays, holiday concerts and ice skating. Here are a few of their longstanding holiday festivities:

12 Nights of Lights: Every December at The Village of Baytowne Wharf, enjoy festive outdoor light shows every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday leading up to Christmas.

Winter Wonderland: The Village of Baytowne Wharf goes all out for this annual event that features about 50,000 pounds of ice that is converted into snow and ice slides. The event typically takes place in January when temperatures average in the mid 60s during the daytime.
