Connect Media Debuts in Middle Tennessee

Connect Media is a 100% community and LGBTQ+ driven brand. It’s also a women, LGBTQ+ and locally owned company. Connect launched its digital platforms earlier this year and will debut an inaugural bi-monthly publication beginning June 2021 in celebration of PRIDE month.

In addition to the social media platforms and publication, the Connect website, https://weconnect.lgbt/ will host a diverse array of video and audio podcasts featuring local, national and international hosts and guests.

The area can also look forward to Connect bringing LGBTQ+ centered events with the first one in planning stages for Fall 2021. Covid safety measures will be required and enforced. Other smaller events will include outreach programs, such as health clinics, for the communities where access is limited.

Co-founder & CEO of Connect, Selena Haynes, said, “My wife, Lauren Means, and I have been involved in the LGBTQ+ community throughout Middle Tennessee for several years now. We have seen the needs that aren’t being met and we know the people throughout this area that will be key in bringing this all together for the good of the community. That’s why we started Connect –– so we can work with people and existing entities already working on various projects and fill any voids there may be. We have other ideas too that will help the community. We’re taking it one step at a time right now, but we’re so excited for this new endeavor and so much more to come.”

The mantra behind Connect is to inspire, empower and change. Connect will bring inspiring stories from the LGBTQ+ community to the forefront. Connect will empower members of the LGBTQ+ community through education and access to resources, especially for those in rural areas. Connect will change outcomes through community events and outreach programs designed so people can learn and live robust, healthy and meaningful lives.
