Made to Travel Fund Supporting Every Traveler

LGBTQ+ travelers deserve to feel included and safe wherever their journeys take them. And various organizations have committed to advocating and uplifting LGBTQ+ travelers throughout the years. Below are just some of numerous nonprofit organizations that are committed to supporting travel for the underrepresented, and actively making a difference within the community:

The IGLTA Foundation, who have a long-standing commitment to promoting equality and diversity within the travel industry, supporting initiatives for industry organizations, leaders, and communities to advance LGBTQ+ travel around the world.

The Venture Out Project, who lead backpacking and wilderness trips for the queer and transgender community, and conducts inclusion workshops for educators, adventure professionals, summer camps and more.

Based in the U.S. and Canada, Rainbow Railroad helps at-risk LGTBQI+ people get to safety worldwide.

This year Expedia’s new program, the Made to Travel™ Fund, has awarded grants to nonprofits, including the phenomenal organizations mentioned above, sharing the common goal of removing barriers to travel. Expedia has a vision to power travel for everyone, everywhere, and the Made to Travel Fund is one step into working to increase equity and access to travel in several communities.
