16th Season of History Comes Alive -This 10-week summer experience bring history to life all around the historic sites.  Listen as Abraham Lincoln delivers he most famous speeches in the locations he originally gave them.  Ride the FREE hop on, hop off Trolley throughout the sites as you make your way from event to event!  History Cooks is back featuring “Presidential Favorites” at the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, and so much more!!

 

Summer brings the opening of two exciting Route 66 features in Springfield!  Beginning July 1, visitors can experience walking the quarter mile stretch of the Carpenter Park Alignment of Route 66, making their way to the banks of the Sangamon River for a breathtaking view.  The Bob Waldmire Art Exhibit will be on display at The Pharmacy Gallery & Art Space through December 2026 paying homage to the most iconic Route 66 nomadic hippie, gifted artist and icon of the Mother Road.
