What's New in Ithaca?



Ithaca celebrates Pride Month with annual events in mid-June. In addition to a Pride Parade and Block Party in downtown Ithaca, there also are daily events taking place throughout the community during the celebration. In 2024, the newly formed Ithaca Pride Alliance will be creating an ongoing series of events that will include Pride Month celebrations.

 

The Cherry Arts is a multi-arts hub – performance and studio space, and a gallery – dedicated to creating and presenting innovative, interdisciplinary performances. They focus on blending different art forms, including theater, dance, music, and visual arts, to create unique and engaging experiences for audiences. Artistic Director Samuel BuggeIn was highlighted in I Love NY’s 10 Places to Visit in New York State Run By Amazing LGBTQ+ Leaders.

 

Buffalo Street Books is Ithaca’s community-owned cooperative bookstore, located in the historic Dewitt Mall. It offers a welcoming place to browse and buy a diverse collection of books in the heart of downtown Ithaca. In addition to its wide-ranging offerings, Buffalo Street Books provides visitors a place to find author readings, literary gatherings, and an eclectic array of other events.
